News about the band in Norwegian will be found almost every day of facebook:
Okey, so we are getting older and a little bit more slower as the years go by.... The record will be finished soon, we promise. But we are shaping the songs and the sound down to the smallest detail to make it a very special record. Or perhaps two records this time. Just wait and see. And watch out for Queen Benzedrine..
The Men They Couldn't Shave have started recording new songs in our new reherseal-studio. Why travel far to a strange recording-studio when we can do it at home? The new live sound will be heard on our new record, possibly released autumn 2012.
Mr. Mo Larsen has written a lot of new lyrics lately and Jan H. has come up with som wonderful melodies. Mix this together with a band still searching for the perfect song, and you will find some new magic taking place at H.P's farm these days. Hopefully we will get this magic out on a record sometime in the near future.
The band started rehearsing again yesterday after some weeks with necessary time spent with our families. Next upcoming gig is at the Caltex festival next weekend.
A great song with Henriksen/Maarud from the "Elektrisk Peiskos"-concert in march.
We have worked hard the last half year to reconstruct our old songs to find a new sound and a new magic within the old formula. We can now proudly say that we feel that we have found something, a more impulsive way to play new versions of the old songs, a different approach to find the soul and the special nerve to each song. Some of you have witnessed the start of this on our latest shows, and we will develop this new sound and soul throughout the year. Come and feel it!
The Men They Couldn't Shave will meet up with Levi Henriksen, Thomas Mårud and Tom Stalsberg.
Join us by the campfire at Herredshuset, Jessheim,
Friday, March 25th - 21.00.
Norwegian founders of the Home of the Nordicana
What do you get when you breed the sounds of the prairie and heartland of America with the crisp and chilly hardship of Norway? What do you do when your aim is to turn the Atlantic Ocean into a small pond so that cultures and sounds can cross it and meet and interact and breed and become cosmic music?
The Men They Couldn’t Shave are six guys following their leading star Mr. Old Henri P – a drifter and free spirit who’s seen and travelled the world and the seven seas. He has put his stamp of approval on this band and what this band does.
